Mark Jones is a Liverpool-based Music Performer, Teacher and Song Writer.
As a performer he has played regularly in bands and as a solo artist (guitar and vocal) for over 30 years. His repertoire covers pretty much every genre, style and era imaginable, including guitar instrumental playing. Mark is available to play at public events, social gatherings, parties, festivals, bars, clubs and restaurants - anywhere that needs a quality musical experience! Mark is also a highly experienced Music Teacher with many years experience of working successfully in SEN and mainstream school settings, including nursery, primary, secondary and further education environments. He is PGCE-trained as a Secondary Music teacher.
Mark’s Music delivery includes:
Interactive whole-class, whole-school or small group singing and music-making sessions, suited to the needs of individuals or groups. Simple songs and music games to teach motor skills, coordination and enjoyment of controlling sounds and voice; popular songs with positive upbeat messages; creation of songs on given themes and topics to develop children’s understanding and memorisation of facts and ideas; music therapy sessions;
Introduction to a range of standard and unusual instruments (guitar, clarinet, saxophone, bass guitar, keyboard, harmonica, didgeridoo, jaw harps, percussion), with interactive performances and discussion of each;
One to one, small group or whole class singing and instrumental lessons, including voice, guitar, keyboard, ukulele, percussion; whole-school singing sessions;
Delivery of Music National Curriculum lessons covering Primary and Secondary units, e.g. African Music, Orchestra, Notation, Blues and a comprehensive range of other music topics.
Development of end-of-term performances incorporating music, drama, dance in a show specially devised according to the needs of the students.
Mark can provide excellent references on request, and is a professional teacher committed to delivering the highest standards of Music provision, safeguarding and service.
